What’s better in the summer (or any time for that matter) than a good old hamburger? When cooked to perfection, a burger is one of life’s great All-American pleasures. And as much as I love (and I mean really, really love) beef, I know that it’s not the healthiest thing for me.  So every once in a while we have a turkey burger instead of that good old beef burger. And they’ve been pretty good. Usually somewhat dry, but I just wrote that off to it being turkey with little to no fat. That is until I found this recipe! This has to be the ultimate turkey burger. It’s flavorful and moist. It holds its shape well and is just excellent.

burgers_final1I know what you’re thinking.  Who can’t cook a hamburger?  Right?  Well, it might be more folks than you think. Sure, anybody can make a patty out of  some ground beef and slap it in a pan or on a grill. They can also turn it into a hard, tough hockey puck pretty quickly, too.

A well seasoned, carefully cooked burger is a thing of All-American joy. This recipe is just for the patty part. How you dress it up on the bun is entirely up to you!

Chili – My Way

chili_platedIf you are a true chili connoisseur or a native Texan, please look away now. Just go somewhere else because this recipe is nowhere near authentic. It’s more beans and veggies than meat. It’s my quick and easy chili that I can put together after work without measuring stuff or soaking beans or any of that kind of tedious work. So next time you have a hankering for chili and it’s nearly dinner time, give this method a try.
